Position Overview: A successful Assistant Controller takes ownership of the accounting and financial reporting responsibilities, as well as payroll and benefits administration of ATBS by aiding and reporting to the Controller. The Assistant Controller prepares financial statements, monitors accounts payable and receivable, oversees payroll processes, and evaluates budgets. The Assistant Controller also assists in the design and implementation of processes to improve efficiency and protect company assets. The Assistant Controller manages, coaches, and inspires employees while ensuring that accounting processes used within the company meet state and federal regulations.

Significant Responsibilities:

  • Diligently prepare internal financial reports including financial statements regarding balance sheets, statements of income, and statements of cash flow
  • Effectively manage accounts receivables and payables by reviewing invoices, account reconciliations, and managing collections ensuring that ATBS is paid in a timely manner by customers and that vendors are paid appropriately
  • Accurately maintain benefit plans including updating personnel records in accordance with applicable regulations
  • Enthusiastically inspire, coach, mentor, and instruct employees to achieve their maximum potential
  • Coordinate with the Controller to generate internal financial reports for the company while also assisting with the external audit processes

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or another relevant field
  • Minimum 4 years of direct accounting experience
  • CPA preferred
  • Payroll processing experience preferred
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting preferred
  • Previous management experience preferred
