Position Overview: A successful Entity Accounting Intern is responsible for providing high-quality services to our small business (S-corporation and partnership) clients. This position performs accounting for business transactions using documents provided by clients. Additionally, the Entity Accounting Intern prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and assists with payroll processing. A supervisor provides mentorship and reviews the Entity Accounting Intern’s work for continuing professional development. This internship is a part time position requiring 20-30 hours per week, taking place from October 17th, 2022 to April 17th, 2023. Opportunities for full-time work are available. If mutually agreeable between the intern and ATBS, it is likely that an offer for regular employment will be extended to the intern after the internship period is completed.

Significant Responsibilities:

  • Accurately account for client business transactions into the ATBS financial reporting database in a timely manner
  • Proficiently reconcile bank and credit card statements, and revenue accounts
  • Effectively generate balance sheets and profit and loss statements for supervisor review before releasing financial information to clients
  • Diligently process payroll and prepare accurate reports for clients

Education and/or Experience:

  • Notable progress toward an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Previous customer service and accounting experience is beneficial, but not required

Compensation/Salary: The starting pay range for this position is $16 - $18/hr. Compensation and benefits are based on, among other things, primary work location, academic achievements, and previous work experience. ATBS offers competitive wages based on industry standards.
