Position Overview: A successful Tax Associate is responsible for the reconciliation and tax preparation process for ATBS clients. A Tax Associate completes a high volume of accurate year-end reconciliations of client accounts, 1099s, and YTD information to produce a Form Schedule C. In addition, a Tax Associate will prepare a high volume of accurate tax returns and communicate with clients throughout the process.

Significant Responsibilities:
- Accurately verify and reconcile revenue and expense amounts provided by clients or partner carriers to amounts reported within the ATBS database
- Analytically research and ensure that clients’ financial results are in line with established due diligence parameters or have reasonable explanations from the established parameters
- Successfully generate accurate Schedule C information for inclusion in clients’ income tax return and adhere to all established reconciliation processes
- Effectively prepare a high volume of individual federal, state, and local income tax returns
- Passionately provide exceptional customer service by gathering tax information, assisting in answering clients’ questions regarding accounting matters and communicating information in a manner that is understood by clients and ATBS employees
- Actively support other departments and contribute to the growth of ATBS

Education and/or Experience:
- Applicable College Degree fields include: Accounting, Finance, Economics, and General Business
- Progress toward an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is required
- One year of experience preparing individual tax returns with Schedule C’s is preferred
- Previous customer service experience is beneficial
- Experience in the transportation industry is advantageous, but not required
- Knowledge of tax rules and regulations is helpful
- Participation in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program or a similar program is a plus
- Previous experience using CCH tax software is a plus, but not required
