Position Overview: A successful Senior Tax Associate takes accountability for the entire tax process at ATBS. A Senior Tax Associate reviews a high volume of tax returns prepared by our Tax Associates, provides valuable feedback to the Tax Associates on their preparation of tax returns, communicates final tax results and tax recommendations to clients, and provides excellent customer service to our clients primarily via phone and email.

Significant Responsibilities:

  • Effectively review a high volume of Tax Associate’s completed individual and business federal, state, and local income tax returns for accuracy, completeness, and due diligence
  • Proactively interact with our Tax Associates providing feedback and training
  • Accurately provide tax return results and tax recommendations to clients in a positive and helpful manner
  • Proactively interact with clients to gather tax information and resolve tax-related questions
  • Passionately provide high-quality customer service by assisting in answering clients’ questions regarding tax matters
  • Effectively communicate information in a manner that is understood by clients and ATBS employees
  • Actively support other departments and contribute to the growth of ATBS by answering inquiries regarding tax notices in a timely manner

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience in business, transportation or a related financial field may substitute
  • EA certification is preferred
  • At least three years of experience reviewing individual and business tax returns with Schedule C’s is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of federal and state income tax forms and tax rules and regulations
  • Previous experience using CCH tax software is a plus, but not required
